FAQ
Q: How do I toggle a layered skin?
A: In 1.8, under Options, there's a Skin Customizing button. You can toggle parts of your second layer on and off. Note: Alex skins have full-body second layers, but Steve skins only have a headwear second layer. If you toggle other parts of the skin while wearing a Steve skin, nothing will happen.
Q: What software do you use to make the skins?
A: It's called MCSkin3D. Here's the link.
Q: I don't have 1.8. Can I still use these skins?
A: If you don't have 1.8, you can't use the Alex skins. But I also make Steve skins for the people who want/need Steves instead.
Q: How can I use one of these skins?
A: Click the 'download' link below a skin on this site. It will take you to a page with the image on it. Right-click on the image and click 'Save As'.
Q: Cool skins, but they're not quite me. How do I make my own?
A: There's a link to my software, MCSkin3D, in the first Q&A. You can also (with much painstaking effort) edit the original Minecraft Steve and Alex skins (downloadable in the same place you install a skin). MS Paint works perfectly fine for editing.
Q: How do I even put a skin on my player?
A: Here's how:
1. Find a skin image. You can Google it, look it up on here, look it up on Skindex, NovaSkin, or Planet Minecraft skins, etc.
2.Go to the Minecraft website.
3. Log in. You need to use your email for some later versions, I think.
4. Go to Profile.
5. Make sure to select the right type of skin - if you don't then your Minecraft player will have white places on it where the image didn't fit properly.
6. Select the .png skin image. Make sure it's .png!
7. Click 'Upload' and you're done! Make sure to close out of Minecraft and then come back so it can update.
